Thomas Meyer

Thomas Meyer is an accomplished Hotelier with sound, international exposure and experience. He assumed his first GM role in 1988 in Düsseldorf/Germany. Since 2007 he is partner and managing director in Reliance Facilities & Hotels Management Ltd, based in Sofia/Bulgaria. Thomas mastered several, complex turn-around management tasks in Europe, the Middle East and Asia successfully and gained considerable experience opening hotel and resort properties of various sizes and business volumes, both branded and non-branded. Whilst being highly adaptable to different cultures he is an ’old school’ hotel GM who leads by example and from the front, not from the top. Throughout his career Thomas developed a high affinity with all topics related to education and vocational training on academic and practical levels.

  • Since 2019 part of the KeePConsult Team
  • Since 2007 incorporated, self-employed Operations Consultant and Project Manager; cooperation with THG Switzerland, Kohl & Partner, T&T Consulting, HMS International; projects in Bulgaria, Turkey, Georgia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Egypt, Jordan, Vietnam and China;
  • 2000 until 2007; Operations Consultant and General Manager serving properties in Mongolia, Lithuania, Afghanistan and Uzbekistan;
  • 1992 until 2000; three assignments as Project and Pre-Opening Manager, Hotel GM and Managing Director in Germany and one large IT project at the WORLDEXPO in Hannover;
  • 1990 and 1991; assignment as hotel school teacher and trainer in Egypt;
  • 1981 until 1990; advancing his career through several Rooms Division assignments in France, Sweden and Germany;
  • Studies and Graduation in Political Sciences and European History; Abitur (equivalent GCE A-Levels, Baccalauréat)
